Born on November 23, 1949, in Sialkot, Pakistan, Dan was the son of missionary mother and father Gene and Jane Glassman. Growing up abroad gave him a deep sense of independence, a love of journey, and an appreciation for various cultures, individuals, and languages, an outlook he carried with him all through his life and instilled in his kids.
Dan graduated highschool from the American International School of Kabul, Afghanistan, went on to earn his undergraduate diploma from Parks College and Southern Illinois University, and later obtained his MBA from the University of Hartford. His training fueled a lifelong love of studying, curiosity, and creativity. He can be survived by his brothers Jim (Corky) Glassman of Pasadena, California, Steve (Joan) Glassman of Surprise, Arizona, and his sister Ruth (Ken) Kravitz of Keeseville, New York. He was preceded in loss of life by his first spouse, Kay Glassman (nee Gelfand), whose reminiscence he honored all through his life, and his mother and father, Gene and Jane Glassman. His legacy lives on within the laughter, resourcefulness, and power of his kids and grandchildren.
