BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The nationwide journey journal, Condé Nast Traveler, is giving New Hope and the encompassing countryside a shout out in a brand new article revealed on Monday on its web site.

In the article titled, “This Rural Pennsylvania Town Has Drawn Creatives for Decades – Here’s How to Spend a Weekend,” commerce writer Jessica Sulima highlights New Hope’s “enduring appeal as a destination for artists, creatives, and travelers drawn to its blend of culture, history, and natural beauty.”

Describing Bucks County as “a region whose rolling hills, grassy farms, quaint main streets, and sweeping river views make it a fair contender for the ultimate country-chic East Coast getaway,” in her journey piece Sulima explores the realm’s wealthy creative legacy, vibrant downtowns, and picturesque landscapes.

“Similar to Hudson and its Hudson Valley counterparts, a go to to New Hope places you in proximity to a string of candy little cities alongside the PA-NJ border — Doylestown, Lambertville, and Frenchtown, to call a number of — and you’ll simply idle away your days between them, paddling alongside the river, looking for antiques, or catching a present at an area theater.”

Located between Philadelphia and New York City, Bucks County offers an accessible escape from the city, according to the folks at Visit Bucks County. New Hope, long known as a haven for artists, performers, and innovators, continues to attract travelers seeking both relaxation and inspiration, the tourism agency said.

Among the local spots mentioned in the piece are Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve, Bucks County Playhouse, The County Theater, Delaware Canal State Park, Dilly’s at Centre Bridge, Empanada Mama, Fonthill Castle, George Nakashima Woodworkers Complex, Michener Art Museum, River House at Odette’s, Stockton Inn, The Carversville Inn, The Oscar Hammerstein Museum & Theater Education Center, The Salt House, The Speckled Egg Cafe, and Washington Crossing Historic Park.
