A CNBC team has gained the cable tv class in third annual awards from the Center for Integrity in News Reporting.
The team included Melissa Lee, Scott Zamost, Paige Tortorelli, and David Lettieri, who produced “RiskyRX.”
Over 10 months of reporting, CNBC documented the expansion of so-called different funding applications (AFPs) — corporations that promise dramatic prescription drug financial savings to cash-strapped employers, together with municipalities, faculty districts, retirement plans, unions, and small companies. Patients are informed they will obtain medicines at little or no value, however the suppliers are sometimes unverified and function outdoors the FDA-regulated provide chain. The sequence included a broadcast investigation and a CNBC.com investigative report.
The judges wrote, “RiskyRX was a solid and balanced series.
