CAMDEN, N.J. (WPVI) — A celebration was held in Camden, New Jersey on Monday for the grand opening of the Mayor Francisco “Frank” Moran Sports Complex.
It’s on the newly renovated Von Nieda Park within the Cramer Hill part of Camden.
The state-of-the artwork sports activities advanced is known as after the previous mayor of Camden.
“Von Nieda Park is a beloved community space, and this investment helps ensure that the park is enjoyable and accessible for the Cramer Hill community for years to come,” mentioned Commissioner Jeffrey Nash, liaison to the Parks Department.
“It is only fitting that the sports complex bares Mayor Moran’s name. Not only did he grow up in Cramer Hill, but he played a crucial role in the revitalization of parks throughout Camden County during his many years as Parks Director.”
Von Nieda Park obtained a whole overhaul that included enhancements to the stormwater system, addition of a pure grass baseball subject, a brand new parking zone and sidewalks.
The $4.1 million undertaking additionally included new irrigated grass soccer and soccer fields, rehabilitated little league fields, dugouts, and benches, and a coated picnic space with fencing.
