Chapelle junior Victoria McCann is a hard-swinging outdoors hitter succesful of placing the volleyball down with super drive, and when she’s not enjoying on the entrance line, teammate Audrey Dubuc can convey one other set of expertise.

“Every year, I just think we just keep improving and building together,” stated McCann, who performed setter earlier than she hit a progress spurt to succeed in 5-foot-10 and have become an out of doors hitter halfway by her sophomore season.

Chapelle (26-15) trailed Hahnville 6-3 in the primary set and went forward for good at 12-11 after the groups have been tied 5 occasions with three lead modifications. The second set featured a 7-1 run included 4 kills from Dubuc and an 8-1 run that included three kills and one block from McCann.

The win was the newest in a season that included notable victories over the likes of No. 1 seed Dominican together with reigning Division II state champion Haynes and Newman, the No. 2 seed in Division IV.

The win towards Dominican helped Chapelle obtain a three-way tie atop the district standings that included Mount Carmel.

“We definitely have taken the turn to become a consistently good team,” Pulizzano stated. “We have had our moments of brightness, but I think now we’re getting more consistent at keeping at that higher level of play.”

Pulizzano famous some matches that included some excessive set scores and that went the total 5 units.

“There are some matches that we didn’t finish, but we were right there,” she stated. “If you look at our schedule, we’re like, 30-28 losing, 32-30. I mean, it’s crazy. The scores were really high, but we competed. Last year we didn’t compete the whole time. We were young, but we weren’t sure of ourselves. The difference is our mental game and our mental capacity. As you mature, you get better.”

Chapelle will face No. 7 C.E. Byrd or No. 26 West Monroe in the subsequent spherical, after these groups play their first-round match Wednesday.
