A teenage boy has been taken to hospital after being stabbed at a Nottingham secondary school.

The 15-year-old was attacked on the grounds of Nottingham University Academy of Science and Technology Academy (NUAST) in Dunkirk Road within the Lenton space of town.


A spokesman from Nottinghamshire Police stated the boy was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre with serious injuries and one other 15-year-old was arrested.

The two pupils are believed to be identified to one another.

Superintendent at Nottinghamshire Police Chris Pearson stated: “This is obviously an unsettling incident to occur on school grounds, and we are working closely with [the school].

“A 15-year-old boy has sustained a stab damage and been despatched to QMC for remedy. His injuries are presently believed to be serious.

“His family will be supported by specially trained officers while a thorough investigation is underway. A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with this incident.

“We know that is probably to trigger alarm and misery throughout our local people particularly for fogeys and pupils within the space.”

Superintendent Pearson confirmed it was unlikely to be linked to the national “School Wars” social media posts which have gone viral on TikTok and Instagram.

He added: “I additionally need to stress that there is no such thing as a wider risk to another pupils on the school.

“We will be working closely with the school over the coming days to establish what has happened.”
