Detectives have been analysing CCTV footage and finishing up additional inquiries with the help of the school.

Supt Chris Pearson stated: “This was a shocking incident which has understandably caused concern among parents and the wider community.

“We are supporting the sufferer’s household and assistance is being made accessible to others in the school neighborhood affected by the incident.

“Our inquiries continue at pace and we are grateful for the assistance from both the school and those living in this neighbourhood.

“The incident concerned two college students who attend the school and are identified to one another.

“We are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident and it is not linked to the national ‘school wars’ social media posts published earlier in the week.”
