(NCS) — Producers for a Broadway revival of “Cabaret” have introduced that the present will quickly be shutting down after its main man, Billy Porter, contracted a life threatening situation.
The present will finish on September 21, following Porter falling unwell.
“Due to a serious case of sepsis, Billy Porter must also withdraw from the production,” in accordance a social media put up from the manufacturing. “His doctors are confident that he will make a full recovery but have advised him to maintain a restful schedule.”
Sepsis “is a serious condition in which the body responds improperly to an infection. The infection-fighting processes turn on the body, causing the organs to work poorly,” according to the Mayo Clinic.
NCS has reached out to representatives for Porter for remark.
The “Pose” star had been performing the position of Emcee, which is able to now be taken over by Marty Lauter and David Merino.
The New York Times reported that ticket gross sales had slowed following blended opinions and the departure of Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne, who had beforehand performed the position of Emcee.
The present was initially slated to shut on October 19.
