Mr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology, and Mr Hua Liu, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation, signed the Bangladesh Country Programme Framework (CPF) for the interval of 2026-2032 on 18 March 2026. A CPF is the body of reference for the medium-term planning of technical cooperation between a Member State and the IAEA and identifies precedence areas the place the switch of nuclear know-how and technical cooperation assets can be directed to help nationwide growth targets.

Bangladesh has been an IAEA Member State since 1972. Its 2026-2032 CPF identifies seven precedence areas:

  1. Nuclear and radiation security and nuclear safety
  2. Energy
  3. Food and agriculture
  4. Human well being
  5. Water and the setting
  6. Nuclear information growth and administration
  7. Radiation know-how and industrial purposes
