“They confronted the hype around him in the summer,” Smith instructed BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club.

“Arteta has taken it quite slow since them. It’s been quite smart. His name has been around for a few years.
“He’s been coaching with the primary group for round 9 months. He’s had an opportunity to develop bodily. It means when he does begin to get Premier League minutes you could have a participant who’s rather more prepared for it than if they’d thrown him in right away or waited for much longer.”
“I do not essentially agree with that,” added Sutton.
“I think it was only a case of it felt like the best time. I do not suppose they waited for this specific second and this was a part of the plan. Arteta was simply pondering of the easiest way to win video games in that second.”
