HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — HTC and the American Heart Association teamed up to present CPR in schools coaching Kits to Horry County Schools.
The kits are filled with Hands-Only CPR coaching gear and have been lately offered to North Myrtle Beach High School, Loris High School and Academy for Arts, Science & Technology.
The Association will present kits to extra HCS in future years.
We are grateful to HTC for his or her help of our CPR in Schools initiative,” stated Lindsay Pampani, American Heart Association growth director, Myrtle Beach. “Knowing how to respond in a cardiac emergency can be the difference between life and death and we are excited to add hundreds of Horry County students to the Nation of Lifesavers.

The law in South Carolina requires high school students to receive CPR instruction before graduation, including Hands-Only CPR and awareness of automated external defibrillators.
The kits provide students with the opportunity to practice skills on a real-life manikin, and they are reusable for future kids to train with.
“This generous donation from the American Heart Association and HTC is going to help us teach our students CPR so they are able to go out into the community and render first aid in any situation,” stated Scott Cyganiewicz, majors instructor on the Academy for the Arts, Sciences, and Technology.
We at HTC are deeply dedicated to the neighborhood we serve and are excited to help this initiative in Horry County,” Samantha Cherry, advertising and marketing coordinator, HTC, stated. “HTC also stands for “Helping the Community,” and by supporting the American Heart Association’s CPR in Schools efforts, we’re offering training that may assist your loved ones, mates, and neighbors.
American Heart stated that CPR is only one a part of its effort to make schools safer. They are urging South Carolina lawmakers to cross the Smart Heart Act, which might require all public schools within the state to have a cardiac emergency response plan.
They encourage lecturers, employees, college students, dad and mom, and so forth., to contact authorities to help this coverage.
