Three universities from Kashmir have terminated Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a USA primarily based NGO – Kashmir Care Foundation – after an inside evaluate.

The establishments that terminated their MoU with the NGO embrace University of Kashmir, Islamic University of Science and Technology, and Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir. These universities have issued letter to the NGO stating cancellation of the MoUs.

The MoU between University of Kashmir and the Kashmir Care Foundation was executed on December 15 final 12 months with the target of furthering instructional initiatives by workshops, seminars and different educational engagements in STEM, humanities and associated fields.

“Whereas, the said MoU has been reviewed by the competent authorities of the University, and it has been observed that continuation of the MoU is not in the larger institutional interest of the University. It is noted that no liabilities (intellectual or financial) have accrued, nor any funds have been solicited or disbursed, under the aegis of the said MoU during the period for which it remained in force,” the letter by the varsity states.

The varsity additional acknowledged that in train of the powers conferred beneath Clause D of the MoU, and relevant guidelines, “the University of Kashmir hereby terminates the MoU dated 15.12.2025 with immediate effect”.

Similarly, Islamic University of Science and Technology in a letter to the NGO knowledgeable that the MoU that was for collaborative initiatives within the subject of rising applied sciences has been reviewed by the competent authorities of the University.

“Upon such review, it has been decided to cancel the said Memorandum of Understanding. Accordingly, you are hereby informed that the Islamic University of Science and Technology terminates the aforesaid MoU with immediate effect by invoking the relevant provisions under the Force Majeure clause of the said agreement,” the varsity acknowledged within the letter.
