CAS Space, a number one business rocket maker, launched the eleventh Kinetica 1 service rocket on Wednesday afternoon, deploying 9 satellites, together with three for the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Nepal.

The rocket lifted off at 12:03 pm from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center within the Gobi Desert of northwestern China and efficiently positioned the payloads into their preset orbits, the corporate mentioned in a press release. The satellites included six Chinese multifunctional satellites, an Earth-observation satellite tv for pc for the UAE, a scientific satellite tv for pc for Egypt and an academic satellite tv for pc for Nepal.

The UAE satellite tv for pc, known as 813, was developed by the Innovation Academy for Microsatellites, a Shanghai-based subsidiary of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, for the National Space Science and Technology Center at United Arab Emirates University.

It carries a hyperspectral imager, a panchromatic imager and an atmospheric polarimeter to gather information for exact monitoring of vegetation, water our bodies and land use, in addition to detailed mapping, floor characteristic detection, environmental surveys and local weather change analysis.

According to media experiences within the UAE, engineers from 12 Arab nations, together with Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, took half within the analysis and improvement effort, which has been described because the Arab world’s first joint satellite tv for pc mission.

The Egyptian satellite tv for pc, SPNEX, or the Space Plasma Nano-satellite Experiment, is a mini satellite tv for pc collectively developed by the Egyptian Space Agency and Egypt’s Academy of Scientific Research and Technology. It focuses on measuring and characterizing area plasma within the ionosphere to help local weather change research.

The Nepalese satellite tv for pc, Slippers2Sat, was constructed by a gaggle of center college college students in Nepal with help from the Nepalese nonprofit group Antarikchya Pratisthan Nepal and the United States-based Amateur Radio Digital Communications. It will likely be used for know-how demonstration.

The Kinetica 1 rocket is 30 meters lengthy, has a diameter of two.65 m and a liftoff weight of 135 metric tons. It can deploy satellites with a mixed weight of as much as 1.5 tons to a typical sun-synchronous orbit about 500 kilometers above Earth.

CAS Space has to date used Kinetica 1 rockets to deploy 84 satellites with a mixed weight of 11 tons, making it the highest firm by enterprise share in China’s business launch market.

Wednesday’s mission marked the fourth time Kinetica 1 has carried satellites for foreign purchasers.

During its fifth flight in November 2024, the rocket positioned 15 satellites into orbit, together with IRSS-1, which was designed and constructed by the China Academy of Space Technology for the Omani area startup Oman Lens. That mission marked the primary time a Chinese business area firm launched a satellite tv for pc for a foreign shopper and the primary profitable orbital launch of an Omani satellite tv for pc.

During Kinetica 1’s eighth flight in August, two Mexican mini satellites have been deployed into orbit. In October, the ninth Kinetica 1 mission positioned HS-1, Pakistan’s first hyperspectral imaging satellite tv for pc, into orbit.

Shi Xiaoning, Kinetica 1’s chief designer, mentioned on Wednesday that the corporate plans to make the rocket reusable by including parachutes and grid fins.
