153 students of HSTU receive national science and technology fellowships

DINAJPUR, Jan 15, 2026 (BSS) – A complete of 153 students of Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) have been nominated for fellowships underneath the National Science and Technology Fellowship Programme of the Ministry of Science and Technology for the present fiscal 12 months.
The data was confirmed in a press launch issued at 11:00 am in the present day by Md Khademul Islam, Director of the Public Relations Department of HSTU.
According to the press launch, fellowships have been awarded in three classes – Food and Agricultural Sciences, Biological and Medical Sciences and Physical Sciences. Of the whole recipients, 152 students have been awarded fellowships on the Master’s stage, whereas one pupil has been chosen for a PhD fellowship in Microbiology.

Among the recipients, 124 students have been chosen underneath the Food and Agricultural Sciences class, 20 students underneath Physical Sciences, and eight students underneath Biological and Medical Sciences.
Faculty-wise, 86 fellows are from the Faculty of Agriculture, adopted by 32 from the Veterinary Faculty, seven from the Fisheries Faculty, and seven from the Faculty of Engineering. In addition, 9 students are from the Department of Mathematics, 4 every from Statistics and Chemistry, two from Physics, and one from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
Under the fellowship programme, every Master’s-level recipient will receive Taka 54,000 as analysis grants, whereas the PhD fellow will receive Taka 3 lakh.
The fellowship programme has been in operation because the 1977-78 fiscal 12 months, aiming to advertise analysis in Physical Sciences, Biological and Medical Sciences, and Food and Agricultural Sciences.
