14-yr-old from Jorhat bags nat’l award for promoting sustainable practices

Guwahati: A 14-year-old innovator from Assam’s Jorhat, who has been main the way in which in promoting sustainable practices, has been awarded the distinguished Pradhan Mantri Rashritya Bal Puraskar for her excellent achievement within the subject of science and know-how.The pupil, Aishi Prisha Borah, has been recognised on the nationwide degree for her excellent expertise, dedication and contribution in science and know-how and artwork & tradition.Aishi has demonstrated outstanding innovation within the subject of science and know-how via tasks centered on pure farming practices, newspaper mulching, and the event of a machine to fabricate pencils from newspaper waste.Congratulating Aishi, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote on X: “Aishi has implemented projects in natural farming and turning waste to wealth among others. Her constant endeavour to promote sustainable practices from such a young age is really commendable and will encourage our youngsters to adopt sustainable practices on a day to day basis.”Aishi has represented her college and area at a number of prestigious platforms, together with the regional degree state science exhibition, the Rashtriya Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshini in New Delhi, and the National Children’s Science Congress in Ahmedabad.Her achievements embrace the INSPIRE MANAK State Award in 2022 and the Dinanath Pandey Silver Innovator Award on the Innovation Festival 2025.
