It’s time once more for us to inform you about the lodges (and cruises) we actually, actually love proper now. Our thirty second annual Gold List collects our editors’ present favourite locations to keep and ships to sail (all vetted by our workforce of contributors and editors round the globe). They’re memorable for a lot of causes: service that made us really feel like Hollywood stars; structure that transported us to Nineteen Twenties London or 18th-century Lake Como; and meals in Vietnam, in Australia, and at sea that we all know will encourage Proustian responses. What do all of those experiences have in widespread? We’ll be carrying them with us for years to come. To paraphrase the outdated saying: New mates are silver, however outdated mates are gold.
