Two suspects had been arrested and positioned in custody on Saturday night as a part of the investigation into the theft of valuable jewels from the Louvre in Paris, French media report.

One of the 2 males was arrested at Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport, and was getting ready to board a flight for Algeria, in line with NCS-affiliate BFMTV, citing sources accustomed to the matter.

Thieves focused the Louvre’s Apollo Gallery on the higher flooring final weekend, which homes the French Crown Jewels.

In the course of a seven-minute heist, they broke into two high-security show instances and stole 9 gadgets, in line with France’s tradition ministry.
