The National Weather Service in Memphis posted a collection of tweets warning individuals to take shelter because the damaging tornado tore by town.

The mayor’s workplace warned residents to remain dwelling following the tornado so crews can assess injury.

“Please do not get out and drive. It is dangerous — there are reports that power lines are down in the roads,” a post on the Tupelo Mayor’s Office Facebook web page mentioned. “Prayers that all are safe, and please keep our crews and first responders in your prayers also.”
Active tornado warnings had been in place Sunday night time for Mississippi, NOAA Weather-Ready Nation Ambassadors mentioned on Twitter.

Earlier Sunday, one other damaging tornado touched down in Yazoo City, about 170 miles southwest of Tupelo, as a part of a spherical of storms sweeping throughout the Southeast.
