President Donald Trump informed reporters he expects different political opponents to be prosecuted after the indictment of former FBI Director James Comey.

“It’s not a list, but I think there will be others,” Trump informed NCS’s Kevin Liptak on Friday as he departed the White House for the Ryder Cup in New York.

Trump added, “I mean, they’re corrupt. These were corrupt, radical left Democrats. … No, there will be others. That’s my opinion. They weaponized the Justice Department like nobody in history. What they’ve done is terrible, I hope, frankly, there are others because you can’t let this happen to a country.”

The Justice Department on Thursday indicted Comey simply days after Trump urged it to prosecute him and compelled out the prosecutor who resisted charging the president’s political foes. It marked a surprising effort to focus on and punish his perceived political enemies.

Trump on Friday steered the case towards Comey would be “pretty easy.” Comey has been criminally charged with two felonies, each associated to a lie he allegedly informed Congress in 2020. During that 2020 testimony, Comey doubled right down to the Senate that he had not been authorizing leaks to the press when he was FBI director atop delicate 2016 investigations. The Justice Department’s indictment stated that Comey had “authorized” a contact to function an nameless supply in information experiences.

“It’s a pretty easy case, because, look, he lied. … That was a very important question that he was asked, and he wanted to be specific, but he didn’t – the only thing that happened to him, he didn’t think he’d get caught. That was a very important answer, and it was very – for him, it was a very good answer if he didn’t get caught, but he got caught lying to Congress,” Trump stated.

He claimed that the indictment was geared toward “justice” and “not revenge.”

“It’s about justice really. It’s not revenge. It’s also about the fact that you can’t let this go on. They are sick, radical left people, and they can’t get away with it,” he stated.

This is a creating story and will be up to date.
