TikTok and the US authorities agreed on Wednesday to drop a lawsuit difficult the Trump administration’s try to ban the short-form video app from US app shops.
In a filing within the US District Court for the District of Columbia, the 2 sides stated they’d mutually agreed the go well with must be dismissed.
The transfer follows President Joe Biden’s resolution to rescind then-President Donald Trump’s 2020 executive order focusing on TikTok. Biden changed that order with a more sweeping one that addresses apps linked to overseas adversaries together with China.
As a results of Biden’s reversal of Trump’s order, Trump’s proposed app store ban grew to become moot. TikTok continues to be negotiating with the US Committee on Foreign Investment within the United States on a plan to handle safety considerations surrounding the information of US customers.
