# SpaceX Reduces Ukrainian Starlink Speeds After Drone Strikes Detection

SpaceX has reduced internet speeds for its Ukrainian users after detecting drone strikes using their Starlink service.

SpaceX's Internet Service Used to Throttle Ukraine Starlink Speeds After Drone Strikes

Elon Musk revealed that SpaceX had reduced internet speeds for its Ukrainian users after the company detected drone strikes using their Starlink service. This decision was made in an effort to prevent further misuse of the civilian commercial service, which is intended for general use.

The move has sparked controversy, with some questioning whether SpaceX's actions were justified. President Trump weighed in on the issue, stating that he did not make the call and that Musk should not be blamed for the throttling of internet speeds.

The Ukrainian military has been accused by Elon Musk's company SpaceX of violating the terms of service for its Starlink satellite internet service. This alleged breach involved using Starlink to facilitate offensive drone strikes that resulted in loss of life.

SpaceX's military-grade version, known as Starshield, is reportedly controlled by the US government, which oversees changes made to the system.

A recent diplomatic push has been made to end the ongoing war in Ukraine, with Russia agreeing to resume three-way negotiations with Washington and Kyiv next month.

The agreement was reached despite tensions between Kyiv and Washington, which have been strained due to a previous incident involving Elon Musk's SpaceX throttling Starlink speeds for Ukraine over drone strikes.
