South Korea was first elected as the chair of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Science and Technology Innovation Policy Partnership.

The Ministry of Science and ICT introduced on the fifth that Park Hwan-il, a senior researcher at the Institute for Science and Technology Policy (STEPI), was elected as the chairman of the APEC Science and Technology Innovation Policy Partnership.

The APEC Science and Technology Innovation Policy Partnership is a consultative physique that seeks to strengthen science and expertise capabilities by way of coverage design, sharing, and joint initiatives. It consists of 21 member states and consists of one chairman, two vice-chairmen, and one senior advisor.
