# South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer celebrates dominant victory over No. 15 Florida

South Carolina defeated No. 15 Florida 38-19 on October 10, breaking an eight-game SEC losing streak.

South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer is breathing a sigh of happiness after his team's dominant 38-19 victory over No. 15 Florida on October 10.

Beamer emphasized that his feelings are centered around the players' success rather than relief, which he doesn't feel after breaking an eight-game SEC losing streak with this win. The Gamecocks had been struggling in conference play, having not secured a win since September of last year. This triumph marked their first victory over a ranked opponent in two years.

The team's overall performance was impressive, as they maintained a 17-10 halftime lead and outscored Florida 21-9 in the second half. South Carolina also excelled in key areas where they had previously struggled, converting all four red zone attempts, forcing three turnovers, and winning the explosive-play battle.

Beamer expressed his optimism about the team's prospects, stating that despite their 3-3 record at the halfway point of the season, he believes they are "just getting started" in terms of improvement. The coach has faced criticism for the team's slow start to Year 6 under his leadership, particularly after a disappointing 4-8 season last year.

Beamer's post-game comments were a testament to his team's growing momentum, as he lavished praise on his coaching staff and players for their hard-fought victory over Florida.

The win has given Beamer a much-needed boost of confidence, but the coach is well aware that there's still work to be done. With six games remaining in the season, South Carolina will need to maintain its current level of performance if it hopes to make a strong finish.

The Gamecocks have an upcoming open date before hosting Tennessee on October 24, followed by a string of SEC matchups against Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Arkansas, and Georgia.

Beamer emphasized that his team's success will depend on consistency and execution across the board.

South Carolina's head coach Shane Beamer has expressed his gratitude towards the university's administration for their unwavering support during a tumultuous period in the team's history.

At a recent news conference attended by athletic director Jeremiah Donati and other senior officials, Beamer praised the group for staying committed to the program despite external criticism. He noted that they have been instrumental in maintaining a positive atmosphere within the team, helping to build trust among players and coaches alike.

Beamer emphasized that this support system will be crucial in driving the team's success going forward, as he aims to keep the momentum building following their recent win over Florida.
