# Sézane Opens New Store on Madison Avenue in Manhattan

The new retail space features an interior design by Pierre Lacroix and is part of the brand's expansion into the US market.

The Upper East Side in Manhattan has long been known for its picturesque charm, but the area's beauty is perhaps most evident on weekday mornings during early fall. The streets are less crowded than on weekends, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the neighborhood's tranquil atmosphere.

As the sun shines brightly, it casts a warm glow over the area, making every street corner and building facade look even more inviting. This idyllic scene has just been enhanced by the opening of a new retail space: Sézane's latest store on Madison Avenue.

The interior design of this boutique is the brainchild of Saint-Germain-des-Prés-based studio Pierre Lacroix, who collaborated with Sézane founder Morgane Sézalory to create an atmosphere that feels more like a Parisian home than a traditional retail space.

Upon entering the store, one's attention is drawn to the fitting room, which features a vibrant bubblegum-pink velvet sofa and matching walls. The main room boasts a beautifully crafted display table adorned with design books and fresh flowers, while vintage furniture pieces are scattered throughout the space.

The store's interior is not just aesthetically pleasing but also functional, allowing customers to easily navigate and explore the various sections.

One notable aspect of the fall collection is its focus on sharp tailoring and luxurious materials, including fuzzy mohair and rich suede.

These high-quality fabrics are combined with a color palette that evokes the changing leaves in nearby Central Park, providing a subtle nod to the city's seasonal transformations.

In addition to these stylish pieces, the outerwear selection has caught the attention of locals accustomed to New York's unpredictable climate.

The designs draw inspiration from classic silhouettes, reminiscent of decades past, with some styles harking back to the 1930s and others inspired by 1950s-era fashion.

As November approaches, the need for versatile outerwear becomes increasingly pressing. The Matthias coat from Sézane is a prime example of this requirement, boasting a removable scarf that can be easily added or removed as needed.

Long woolen skirts are another essential item for fall wardrobes, and the Orlane A-line midi from Sézane is an excellent choice. Made from 100% wool, it's lined for added warmth and comfort, making it perfect for pairing with knee-high boots on chilly days.

A slim-fit turtleneck or button-down shirt can also help balance out a fuller silhouette, as evidenced by the brand's wide range of options. These polished pieces can be easily mixed and matched with other fall staples to create a cohesive look.

The ideal pair of khakis is one that strikes a perfect balance between style and practicality, and Sézane's mid-rise, perfectly starched, wide-legged option seems to tick all the right boxes. Its versatility makes it suitable for pairing with both baggy sweaters and slim layers alike.

The brand's ability to adapt its designs to suit various tastes is one of its greatest strengths.

In the store, I found an assortment of lightweight jackets that could easily be mixed and matched with other pieces in your wardrobe.

Among them were two standout options: a classic mac coat and a rich terracotta suede jacket, both of which had the potential to be complete outfits on their own.

These versatile jackets can elevate even the simplest of ensembles, making them an excellent choice for anyone looking to add some sophistication to their daily look.

The Tazia jacket has a distinctive design featuring puffy sleeves and a starchy, rounded collar. It also comes with an oversized front tie that can be fastened into a ribbon or left undone for added versatility.

For everyday wear, the jacket pairs well with jeans, but its olive-colored trousers are particularly suitable for fall.
