Dr Olushola Odusanya, Director-General of the National Centre for Technology Management (NACETEM) says the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology is functioning easily within the absence of a minister.

Then minister, Chief Uche Nnaji, had resigned his appointment following a certificates scandal.

Odusanya, whereas reacting to the absence of a minister, advised the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Thursday that the ministry was working easily as its members of workers and Chief Executive Officers of its companies await Nnaji’s alternative.

“In public service, there is political leadership, and there is a system leadership and in all MDAs we have the core public servants.”

“We have the parastatals who operates almost semi autonomously, while the political leadership is to drive the agenda of the government.

“We have had two years of the former Minister, Chief Uche who focused on the eight point agenda of Mr President.

“Within the time frame when the President decides to appoint another minister, the ministry will continue to operate efficiently and even when the political leadership is not there, the structures, policies, functions of the ministry will still continue,” he mentioned.

According to him, nothing is disrupted within the ministry as a result of there’s a system in place.

He, nonetheless, mentioned the ministry would operate higher with a steady political management. (NAN)
