# Samsung Preparing to Open Up Registrations for One UI 9.5 Beta

A Samsung One UI 9.5 beta may be on the horizon, judging by recent developments. Firmware for the Galaxy S26 Ultra has been spotted on Samsung's servers in Korea and the US, indicating that the company is preparing to open up registrations for testers.

This is typically the final step before a beta program is launched, suggesting that a One UI 9.5 beta release is imminent. The last time Samsung rolled out a point-five update was with One UI 8.5 on December 8, 2025, and given that One UI 9.5 is expected to debut alongside the Galaxy S27 in early 2027, it's likely that we'll see the beta program open up soon.

Samsung hasn't made any official announcements about the beta or its launch date, but based on past experience, interested users can expect to sign up through the Samsung Members app and then download the beta from their phone's settings once it becomes available. However, eligibility is limited to residents of six countries: Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, the UK, and the US.

The spotted build is firmware version S948BXXU6ZZK3 and appears to be exclusive to the Galaxy S26 Ultra for now, although other S26 models are likely to follow. Enthusiast site SammyGuru also suggests that the S25 series, Z Fold 8, and Z Flip 8 will receive the beta update.

Users who purchase their devices directly from Samsung may have an easier time accessing the beta program than those who buy carrier-locked phones. The One UI 8.5 beta was only available to users with unlocked phones in the US last time around.

Those interested in signing up for the beta should be prepared to wait a short while longer, as the company typically gives its servers a final check before opening up registrations. With the Galaxy S27 launch just around the corner, we can expect the One UI 9.5 beta program to open up soon.

The rollout of the One UI 8.5 beta for select Galaxy devices began on December 8, 2025, but some owners in Poland and India had to wait until the second beta build on December 22.

This pattern may repeat itself with the upcoming One UI 9.5 beta program, which is expected to be based on Android 17, just like its predecessor One UI 9.0. The stable version of One UI 9.0 was released alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 on July 22.

Enthusiast sites are speculating about the launch timing for the next Galaxy S phones, with some predicting an Unpacked event in January or February, similar to previous years. The exact date has not been announced by Samsung yet.

SammyFans and SamMobile have made educated guesses about when the One UI 9.5 beta program might open up, with early December being a possible launch window for SammyFans. These predictions are based on past trends and the availability of the S26's Ultra build on Samsung's servers.

The Galaxy S27 is set to arrive soon, which should trigger the opening of the One UI 9.5 beta program, allowing developers and enthusiasts to test the new features before they become widely available.

To participate in the One UI 9.5 beta program, users will need to have a Samsung account and download the Samsung Members app from either the Galaxy Store or Google Play.

The registration process for the beta is relatively straightforward once it goes live. Users can access the Samsung Members app on their device, navigate to the home screen, and select the One UI 9.5 banner or beta card to initiate the enrollment process.

If a user's phone and country meet the necessary requirements, they will be automatically enrolled in the beta program. From there, users can proceed to download and install the beta software through Settings > Software update > Download and install.

However, before installing the beta software, it is essential for users to ensure that their apps are up-to-date and that their device has been backed up using Smart Switch. This precautionary measure helps prevent potential data corruption issues associated with beta testing.

Users can report any bugs or issues they encounter during the beta testing phase through the Samsung Members app. To do so, they should navigate to Participated Beta test > Beta feedback > Send feedback and submit their concerns.

To exit the beta program, users must withdraw from the beta by navigating to Settings > Beta program settings within the Samsung Members app. However, this action alone will not remove the beta build itself; instead, a downgrade process using Smart Switch is required to restore the device to its previous state.
