An American Airlines flight, operated by SkyWest Airlines, made an emergency landing Monday night time in Nebraska, after the pilots couldn’t attain the flight attendants and heard somebody outdoors the cockpit door, in response to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Flight 6469 took off from Omaha’s Eppley Airfield at 6:41 p.m. native time headed to Los Angeles however virtually instantly circled, landing simply 18 minutes later, in response to the monitoring web site FlightConscious.

Henry Gruver was seated within the entrance row of the principle cabin, touring to Japan with his spouse and 7-year-old daughter.

“Everybody was really calm. I guess nobody knew what was happening, so it was probably a good thing,” Gruver stated.

The Embraer ERJ 175 regional jet parked away from the terminal with two firetrucks surrounding it, a photograph confirmed.

“After landing, it was determined there was a problem with the inter-phone system and the flight crew was knocking on the cockpit door,” the FAA stated in an announcement.

SkyWest confirmed an issue with “a flight crew mic,” Tuesday, including “we apologize for the inconvenience.”

The flight lastly took again off for Los Angeles almost 5 hours late, in response to FlightConscious. The Gruver household missed their connection to Japan and waited in a single day within the airport for the following flight.

Skywest and American Airlines haven’t contacted them because the incident, they stated.
