# New York Knicks Unveil Championship Rings After 53-Year Drought

The New York Knicks have unveiled their championship rings, marking the end of a 53-year title drought for the iconic basketball team. The ceremony took place at Madison Square Garden, where the 2026 NBA champions kicked off their season against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Jason Arasheben, founder of Jason of Beverly Hills, was tasked with designing the championship rings. With an impressive portfolio that includes previous commissions from teams like the Philadelphia Eagles and the Seattle Seahawks, Arasheben was well-suited for the job.

The designer revealed that it's standard procedure to reach out immediately after a team wins the championship, allowing him to capture the moment and create something truly special for the players. For the Knicks, he knew he had to bring his A-game, considering their lengthy title drought.

Arasheben grew up visiting New York as a teenager, developing a strong connection to the city and its basketball team. He would often attend Knicks games with his family during winter breaks from school, fostering a lifelong passion for the franchise.

The championship rings themselves are truly fit for champions, featuring white gold and nearly 800 emerald-cut white diamonds, along with blue sapphires totaling 22 carats.

As a renowned jeweler, I've had the privilege of working on numerous high-profile projects, but none as exciting as designing the championship rings for the New York Knicks.

The process began when the team reached out to me immediately after their championship win, following my standard protocol of offering congratulations and expressing interest in collaborating with them.

Three weeks later, they contacted me again, this time to discuss a potential partnership. I submitted three designs along with an explanation of our design philosophy and expertise.

Those designs were then shared with the team's ownership, executive staff, and players, allowing everyone to provide feedback and input on the final product.

The consensus was clear: my design stood out from the rest.

The design process for championship rings is a complex one, requiring consideration of multiple stakeholders and their diverse tastes. With over 250 NBA players as clients outside of championship rings, our brand has a unique understanding of what top athletes value in jewelry. However, designing a championship ring involves a different set of challenges than creating a custom piece for an individual athlete.

When working on a championship ring design, we must balance the preferences of key players with those of ownership, executive staff, and fans. The end result needs to be visually appealing to all parties involved while also conveying a specific narrative about the team's season and journey to the championship. This requires careful consideration of the city's energy and atmosphere.

Capturing the essence of New York City was a crucial aspect of our design process. We incorporated multiple storylines into the ring, acknowledging the team's 53-year drought without a championship as a significant pressure point. Our goal was to create an iconic piece that would resonate with fans and reflect the city's vibrant spirit.

To achieve this, we drew inspiration from various aspects of New York City's culture and history. Our design aimed to evoke the energy and excitement of the city, making it a true reflection of the team's identity and accomplishments.

The design team behind the New York Knicks' championship rings aimed to create a timeless piece that would stand the test of time, appealing just as much in 30 years as it does on ring night.

In crafting the design, they drew inspiration from the iconic Madison Square Garden, which is widely regarded as one of the most famous stadiums in the NBA. The team's history and the city's reputation as a global hub were also taken into account.

A key feature of the ring is its intricate design, which pays homage to the Garden's architecture. The inner bezel of the ring twists open, revealing a scaled model of the stadium, complete with windows and other details.

The result is a one-of-a-kind championship ring that perfectly captures the essence of the Knicks' identity and their connection to New York City.
