ST. FRANCISVILLE – A brand new summer camp is coming to colleges in West Feliciana Parish to assist encourage college students to get again to studying after being cooped in the course of the pandemic.

“With the pandemic, our kids have been through so much,” West Feliciana School Superintendent, Hollis Milton stated.

The faculty district is holding an athletics summer camp for all elementary and center college students to assist them be taught through sports.

“We looked at this summer as a good opportunity to get our kids invested
and that will lead to great dividends,” Milton stated.

“It’s always better to have a kid involved in something, than sitting at home,” Amber Thorne stated.

Thorne has a daughter who she says would love to get entangled within the
new summer camp.

“Absolutely. She loves all the coaches. She definitely wants to
try cheer,” Thorne stated.

In addition to bodily exercise, neighborhood leaders may also discuss with
the scholars about what it takes to be a part of a staff to enhance themselves and one another.

“Providing motivational speeches on leadership, character and
what it takes to be a successful student,” Milton stated.

The camp runs for 4 weeks. The price is 20 {dollars} per scholar, with transportation and lunch supplied.

It begins on June seventh and you may register at Bains Elementary and West Feliciana Middle School.
