# New livery unveiled by Condor Airlines features bright stripes

Condor Airlines has introduced a new striped livery and upgraded its fleet with Airbus A330neos, offering a more premium experience for passengers.

Condor Airlines has been making headlines for its bold new livery, featuring bright stripes that have sparked both admiration and criticism from aviation enthusiasts.

The airline's fleet of Boeings has been replaced by Airbus A330neos, which offer a three-cabin configuration including business class. This change is part of Condor's efforts to modernize its fleet and improve the overall passenger experience.

Condor was founded in 1955, but it wasn't until 2004 that the airline began offering discounted prices on long-haul flights from Germany to various destinations around the world, earning it a reputation as a budget carrier. Today, Condor's airfare is more comparable to legacy carriers, although its transatlantic flights remain relatively affordable.

The airline has undergone significant changes in recent years, including a major rebranding effort in 2022 that introduced the new striped livery and marked the introduction of Airbus A330neos to the fleet. This shift towards more premium offerings is aimed at appealing to a wider range of travelers.

As part of this transformation, Condor has been focusing on upgrading its business class product, which I had the chance to experience firsthand on a recent flight from New York City to Frankfurt.

Condor's Frankfurt base presents a challenge when it comes to navigating customs and security checks at the airport.

The airport's infrastructure is not ideal for handling large numbers of passengers, which can lead to long lines and delays.

This issue, however, is not unique to Condor and affects all airlines operating out of Frankfurt.

Travelers upgrading to Condor Business Class should be prepared to factor in extra time when making connections at the airport.

Access to airport lounges is one of the perks of flying business class with Condor.

At JFK's Terminal 7, passengers can enjoy the Horizons Lounge, which offers a selection of hot food and a full bar.

The lounge provides a comfortable space for travelers to relax before their flight.

Condor Business Class also grants access to Lufthansa Business Lounges at Frankfurt Airport on select flights.

The Business Class seats on Condor's NYC to Germany flights offer ample legroom and comfort for passengers.

Each seat can recline 180 degrees, allowing travelers to fully relax during long-haul flights.

A pillow, blanket, and bed mat are provided to enhance the sleeping experience, although it's up to each passenger to lay out their own bedding.

The seats themselves feature a stylish indigo color scheme, adding to the overall sense of luxury.

Passengers can also store their shoes in a compartment at their feet, freeing up space for other belongings.

Business class passengers on Condor flights can look forward to a range of culinary options during their journey. On outbound flights from New York City to Germany, this includes a starter tray featuring an assortment of dishes such as bell pepper dip, smoked duck breast, and marinated salmon.

The main course selection is equally impressive, with choices like beef tenderloin, shrimp with herb polenta in Diavola sauce, or ricotta ravioli. A cheese course and dessert option are also available, accompanied by coffee or tea - with alcoholic beverages provided complimentary throughout the flight.

On the return journey, lunch takes on a distinctly German flavor, with an "Oktoberfest Style" fried chicken main course served alongside potato salad, cabbage, and wild lingonberries. While some may be put off by the idea of fried food in-flight, it's worth noting that this option is actually breaded - a welcome relief for those who dread the challenges of eating on a plane.

Breakfast options are also available, with an omelet filled with feta and sweet potato served alongside satellite bowls of fresh fruit and cereal. This meal is typically served just before landing, providing passengers with a satisfying conclusion to their in-flight dining experience.

However, some aspects of Condor's business class service fall short - specifically the lack of a privacy barrier for passengers during sleeping hours. This can lead to an unexpected surprise if you wake up while someone is passing through the aisle, which reclines at a distance that may catch you off guard.

The two seats in the center of each row in Condor's business class do not have privacy screens between them, making them ideal for passengers who are familiar with each other.

This layout allows for more social interaction and conversation during the flight, but it may not be suitable for those seeking a more private experience. Comparing Condor's business class fares to those of legacy European carriers like Lufthansa reveals that they tend to be more affordable.

As an Atmos Rewards member, passengers can enjoy even better deals on transatlantic flights with Condor, making the upgrade to business class even more worthwhile.
