The Office of Science and Technology Policy and the National Science Foundation have introduced the newly fashioned National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource Task Force, which is able to write the street map for increasing entry to essential sources and academic instruments that may spur AI innovation and financial prosperity nationwide.

Computer scientist FEI-FEI LI, the Sequoia Capital Professor and co-director of the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI), is among the 12 task force members.

Li served because the director of the Stanford AI Lab from 2013 to 2018. During her sabbatical from Stanford from January 2017 to September 2018, she was vice chairman at Google and served as chief scientist of AI/ML at Google Cloud. She joined Stanford in 2009 as an assistant professor.

In 2019, she co-founded HAI with philosophy professor and former provost JOHN ETCHEMENDY to advance AI analysis, training, coverage and observe to enhance the human situation. Led by school from throughout Stanford, HAI analysis focuses on growing AI applied sciences impressed by human intelligence; learning, forecasting and guiding the human and societal impression of AI; and designing and creating AI functions that increase human capabilities.
