# Air travel disrupted by wave of bomb threats across Europe

Multiple European airliners received anonymous bomb threat claims on Thursday, prompting emergency landings and security sweeps.

A wave of bomb threats against European airliners has caused widespread disruption to air travel across the continent on Thursday. The latest incidents have prompted emergency landings and security sweeps at several major airports.

No explosives have been found in any of the threatened aircraft, but the threats alone have had a significant impact on Europe's airspace and airport operations. At least 14 airliners were targeted by the anonymous threats.

Aer Lingus flight EI402 from Dublin to Rome was one of the first planes affected, changing course near Paris and diverting to a French Air Force base for inspection. The plane was evacuated while bomb squads inspected the aircraft, but no explosives were found.

A Finnair flight from Helsinki was escorted by Italian Air Force jets to Rome's Fiumicino Airport after receiving reports of a suspected bomb threat on board.

The anonymous tip led authorities to inspect the aircraft, but fortunately, bomb disposal experts found nothing to indicate any explosives were present.

Finnair acknowledged that air travel can be disrupted by hoax threats, citing recent instances where several European airlines had faced similar situations.

In related news, LOT Polish Airlines reported that two of its flights from Warsaw were targeted with bomb threat claims, one headed for Brussels and the other for Paris.

Multiple European flights were diverted or searched for explosives after receiving bomb threats on Thursday, adding to a wave of disruptions in recent days.

According to reports from various countries, flights from Copenhagen and Milan landed safely at their destinations, while one flight from London was redirected to the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv.

In the Czech Republic, authorities received warnings about potential improvised explosive devices being placed on four planes heading to Prague. These threats were part of a broader pattern of disruptions that have affected multiple airlines in recent days.

No explosives were found during searches at airports across Europe, and no one has claimed responsibility for the bomb threats, which have sparked security operations at several ports and airports.
